The retreat comprises a one-day workshop on The journey of five senses and ecstatic dance by facilitator Sonia Wadhwa

What to expect: The five senses are our doorways to the outer world. We usually have one or two senses as our primary gateways to the world. Some of us are visual – we only trust what we see. Some of us listen, trying to ascertain the truth behind the spoken words, while some of us are touchy–feely.
A divine world awaits those who explore the magic and mystery of the five senses. When we explore the sense of smell and taste, we can begin to experience the ability to smell truth or untruth. As we move in deeper we confront, acknowledge, understand and transcend the layers. The senses integrate you with the world around you.

In this workshop, you will learn how to prioritise your senses – one over the other. You will go through a process of awakening the five senses, making space, and inviting your 6th sense, your intuitive abilities.

Ecstatic Dance: It is about raising our energies and letting our bodies sway, swing, and move in the ecstasy of dance in a way that transforms our energies from outer dance to inner bliss. This dance is a flow – stemming from within, to the Tandava of Shiva, to the Lasya of Parvati, embracing the masculine and the feminine. Let us dance, dissolve, merge, and melt.

About the venue –

( )

Retreat for Joy and Personal Growth’ is being organized at Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Madhuban, Talla Ramgarh, District- Nainital, Uttarakhand. Madhuban is situated at a height of 5000 ft above a picturesque village in the Kumaon range of the Himalayas. The entire valley of Talla Ramgarh is a fruit bowl with pears, plums, peaches, and apricot orchards. Madhuban Sri Aurobindo Ashram is an extension of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi Branch. Madhuban today is a calm environment for spiritual retreats, writers and artists’ residences, Vedic chanting, nature treks, and a wholesome experience of living in a community set up where all work is done in the spirit of an offering to the Divine.

It is a space that beckons each one of us to pause and to connect to one’s inner ecology amidst the abundance of flora and fauna that is in rhythm with seasonal changes.

The Mother called this valley,”Sri Aurobindo’s foothold in the Himalayas”. Nature has the power to spread balm on our aching minds and hurting souls. In the lap of Mother Nature, we feel restored, healed, and rejuvenated which already makes our retreat venue a special one. Ramgarh was also one of the favourite places of poet Rabindranath Tagore, who penned some of his compositions in this hill town.
