About the Workshop:
This 4 hour interactive session (with two 10 minute breaks) is aimed at optimizing function through exercise in 3 segments.
1) The spine is the central axis of the body & therefore of all bodily movement. An untrained mis-aligned spine bears the brunt of all our daily endeavors. This segment will cover ‘how to train the spine’, know your alignment & how to correct it, recommended positions for standing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting & sleeping. An exercise demo and small workout included.
2) Bones are our framework & muscles, the mover & shakers of the body. Find out the impact of losing muscle & bone as we age & how to reverse it in a safe & effective manner.
3) The last segment addresses the ever expanding cloud of fitness advice& recommendations. Attend this to get a clear picture. Fun quiz included

The workshop aims to explore and create awareness regarding appropriate choices in exercise and fitness programs.
It also focuses on exercise as a means to achieving health and movement efficiency rather than just an external appearance.

Dr. Tendolkar (M.B.B.S.), Technical Director at BFY sports & fitness, has been teaching exercise science since 2000. She has been certified as A.C.S.M. HEALTH & FITNESS INSTRUCTOR (2003), A.C.E. CLINICAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST (2007), AFAA CERTIFICATION SPECIALIST & GROUP FITNESS TRAINER (2007-8) & is currently an NSCA CERTIFIED STRENGTH &CONDITIONING SPECIALIST (2014). Her special skills include pre & post natal fitness training, group exercise training, training for posture enhancement, training for risk factor modification & creative exercise design. She consults for personalized Exercise design and prescription.
Contribution/Fee: Rs 3000 till Oct 1 – Rs 3500 for enrollment on the spot
